Edition #18
Our first one on Substack!
It’s been a couple of very transformational weeks for MeebCo and Meebits behind the scenes and we’re very excited about everything we have planned for Q4. Let’s start with our new web experience, which will go live by December. We’re re-imagining Meebits online presence from the ground up and integrating our North Star: Meebits are Art.
On the events front, Sergito and BojangleGuy represented Meebits at the Tokyo Gift Show last week. This is a regional trade show that sees participants from Japan and neighboring countries come to present their latest products and ideas. Meebits had a stand-alone booth that highlighted the Four Pillars of our development and attracted a lot of attention from attendees who are not accustomed to seeing Western character IP at shows in Asia. Up next we’ve got two more exciting exhibitions, one at Art Blocks Marfa and one at ComplexCon. More on those later.
Moving on to new products, the Meebits community was invited to order high-quality 3D prints of their Meebs which will be the ones shown at the aforementioned exhibits. We saw demand for over 100 Meebits prints and are very excited to both show these and then get them home to their collectors. Lastly, we announced our new “Meebgital” pins which will mint on Monday September 15th via Blever. Our fist drop for Series 1 is “Tokyo”. These pin NFTs will be redeemable for a set of 4 physical pins once Series 1 is completed in late October. Keep an eye on X/Discord for more details.
TRAIT SPOTLIGHT:
Meebs in the Hood
The hoodie is seen as a humble staple of streetwear, but in NFTs they have been an outsize hit since the CryptoPunks. In the first Larva Labs collection, their relative desirability far outstrips their rarity. As I look this morning, of the 36 attributes which are rarer, only the absolute rarest, Beanie, has a higher floor price.
Perhaps it is because hoodies are the programmers’ standard attire and many of us in the magic internet money space have a tech background, but whatever the cause, Hoodies are hype. So, get comfy and let’s talk about the many Meebits’ hoodies.
The most highly valued Hoodie for Meebits is, of course, part of the Snoutz brand of luxury streetwear: the Snoutz Hoodie. Featuring a pattern of Snoutz logos and their 90 degree rotations, printed on a white base. Available in seven colours, where that refers to the hue of the Snoutz logo, this hoodie has the oddest distribution of colours seen in a Meebit trait.
The 39 Snoutz Hoodies have been a collector favourite since mint. Led by the example of John Watkinson who uses his Snoutz Hoodie meeb, #3900 as his image on the most programmer place on the
This week saw a trade between mega meeb community members Runj and Bugs for 14688, a Pig wearing a black Snoutz hoodie. ‘Tommy’, is one of 23 Pigs wearing the Snoutz Hoodie, as in common with other Snoutz traits, the Hoodie is heavily weighted toward Pigs, with 23 of the 39 worn by our porcine pals; the other 16 are all sported by male Humans.
Next week we’ll continue our survey of the Meebit hoodies into the more affordable ones, but if you would like to get your trotters on a Pig with a Snoutz Hoodie, the MeebCo upcycling programme gives you a chance to secure one most desirable of the meebs by placing a bid on #7904.

Q: Tell us a bit more about yourself!
A: I'm an Australian photographer and artist whose been minting work since April '21. I'm all in on the vision of blockchain technology as a pathway to preserving online freedoms.
Art creates culture and culture shapes our vision of what's possible, important and necessary. That's why I'm excited by the art and artists who are realising the best parts of blockchain to create a positive future here. Lava Labs, especially Meebits because they can scale play and adoption, are a HUGE part of that, as is The Memes by 6529 and all the projects playing with CC0 - XCOPY, mfers and others.
My own practice is all about bringing online, minted (NFT), art out into the offline world. I joined The Memes as a Meme Card artist this year, have published CC0 books that are available at cost-price on Amazon - all because I'm convinced that play beats profits when it comes to bringing new people into this amazing, scary, complex, exciting space.
Take your Meebit outside - with merch, on your phone, in AR, dress up like them - it doesn't matter which way you do it. Play around, show people what's fun about them and tag me in if you do. It always makes my day and I'll bet it will make yours better too.
